Designed by the Chilean artist Mariana Vilches Schmidt, this ex-voto heart inspired by Mexican culture is handcrafted in recycled newspaper pulp.
The pulp is made according to a mixture invented by his mother, the sculptor Patricia Schmidt. It is cold worked avoiding any energy consumption and solidified by adding plaster waste to the mixture.
Born in the late 90s, this technique characterizes 100% upcycling fabrication based on the recovery of materials that are no longer needed to turn them into high quality products. It makes this unique decoration a totally eco-friendly product.
